Tree Grove ("we", "our", or "the Extension") is a Chrome extension that helps users grow a virtual tree in their browser while contributing to real-world reforestation.

1. Information We Collect

We collect minimal data necessary for the extension to function:

• Local Storage: Your tree growth progress (day count), last growth date, and a randomly generated user ID.
• Firebase Firestore: Anonymous aggregated data for the global "Real trees planted" counter and community goal (1,000,000 trees).

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or process:

• Personal information (name, email, address, etc.)
• Browsing history or data from any websites you visit
• Any sensitive user data
• IP addresses or location data

3. How We Use Your Data

The data is used solely for:

• Displaying your personal tree growth progress
• Updating the public community tree planting counter
• Calculating progress toward our 1,000,000 tree goal

4. Tree Planting Disclosure

Real trees are planted in batches of 100, 500, or 1,000 trees through trusted reforestation partners. We do not plant one tree per individual user action or install. Planting occurs periodically when sufficient milestones are reached across the user base.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your tree progress is stored locally on your device. Aggregated anonymous data is stored on Firebase Firestore with appropriate security rules.

6. Your Rights

You can delete all your data at any time by uninstalling the Tree Grove extension. No account or personal data is retained after uninstallation.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
